Named after the pioneering and internationally acclaimed documentary filmmaker of Pakistan, poet and scholar, Khalique Ibrahim Khalique (1926-2006), KIK IMAGES (SMC-Private) Limited is an independent organization set up by the family and friends of the late filmmaker for film production and promotion of art.
KIK IMAGES (SMC-Private) Limited espouses a passion to create and exhibit quality documentary films, theatre, art shows and literary and cultural events on the subjects as diverse as life itself. A team of competent film directors, concept writers, poets, playwrights, script and commentary writers, radio producers, narrators, performers, music composers, creative artists, camerapersons, editors, sound engineers, production managers and logisticians is able to produce films and theatre and stage events for both social causes and profitable ventures. Art is never compromised.
Some of the main projects of KIK IMAGES (SMC-Private) Limited included five documentary films for United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) on the topics of ‘Industrial Policy’, ‘Energy Crisis’, ‘Provincial Autonomy’, ‘Land Management’ and ‘Water Management’, and a documentary film on the life of poet and philosopher Allama Muhammad Iqbal. Besides documentary films on Sufism and on the life of Khalique Ibrahim Khalique are under process.
Hamra Khalique was married to Khalique Ibrahim Khalique for 42 years and shared his intellectual and artistic pursuits. She writes and translates fiction, besides being a playwright and script writer. She has published eight collections of fiction and non-fiction in Urdu and her TV plays have been telecast on Geo, ARY, HUM TV and TV One.
Tariq Khalique is a seasoned journalist and script writer. He has also directed documentary films for a private TV channel and non-governmental organizations, besides being a producer on the current affairs transmissions. Currently, he is associated with a daily newspaper as Assistant Editor and Edition In-charge.
Shabana Zafar Harris is a media and community trainer, knowledge and information material developer and a human, disability and women rights campaigner for the last 14 years. She was associated full time or worked as a consultant with Strengthening Participatory Organization, UKS Women and Media Centre and Oxfam GB. She is associated with the KIK IMAGES as Director Communications, Islamabad.
Haseena Moin needs no introduction, as she is one of the senior most writers of the country with an international acclaim. She has written hundreds of dramas, which have left a deep impression on the minds of the people. She has also written scripts for Bollywood films, besides Indian drama industry. She has a vast experience of writing dramas and telefilms for Pakistan Television and almost all other major private TV channels. She has also won several national and international awards.
Harris Khalique, recipient of the Pride of Performance, is an internationally acclaimed poet, creative writer and political analyst. He has worked in the field of social development and human rights holding senior management advisory positions. He has conceptualized, scripted and helped made a number of documentary films, besides serving on juries of film festivals.
